Salvatore F. Granato Jr. was first appointed to fill the vacant position of Highway Superintendent in January of 1997 by the Whitestown Town Board. He later was then elected to this position in November of 1997 and has served in this capacity since.
Sal has worked for the Town of Whitestown Highway Department since December 1976. Throughout the years he has held various positions within the department and has had extensive hands on job experience.
Under his direction his crew maintains the town roads year round keeping them in excellent condition. He is also responsible for the town's sanitary sewer system, landfill site, storm sewer system, and is currently constructing new sidewalks and clearing and building a road system in the new Town Park area. His staff was instrumental in the Dunham Manor Playground project by clearing land, installing the parking lots and helping with various aspects of the construction of the new restroom building.
Sal is a Whitesboro High School graduate and a long time community member. He makes his home here in Whitesboro with his wife Karen and their three children, Timothy, Daniel, and Kelly.
